MISSION

MISSION

Illegal logging and large-scale commercial logging have been cited as factors contributing to the decline of tropical forests, but in recent years, plantation development to produce palm oil, cacao, paper, and wood for biomass fuels has become the biggest factor. Plantation Watch, a collaboration of seven Japanese organizations, conducts research and advocacy activities with the aim of promoting efforts to address environmental and social issues in Southeast Asian countries.
